Fly Africa conducts demo flights

LOW cost airline Fly Africa, yesterday conducted demonstration flights to meet Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe’s regulations ahead of its inaugural flight between Victoria Falls and Johannesburg on 23 July. The procedures involve flight operations officers from Civil Aviation

Authority of Zimbabwe and those from South Africa inspecting the aircraft workshops, cabin crew and validity of ground licences and air licences.

The officials were also inspecting aircraft maintenance certificate, availability of safety equipment on board a procedure for any airline that flies into Zimbabwe

Speaking on the sidelines of the demonstration, the company’s Zimbabwe country chairman Prof Chakanyuka Karase said they would officially launch the flight on the 23 July and will be operating three times a week between Victoria Falls and Johannesburg.

“Everything is in place and bookings are looking well. We are happy with the way everything is going,” said Prof Karase.

He said in September they would start operations between Harare and Johannesburg, Bulawayo- Johannesburg and Victoria Falls-Bulawayo-Harare routes.
