FLYAFRICA has introduced flights on the domestic routes as well as one more regional flight as the low cost airline increases its footprint in the country.
The airline said it will introduce the Harare-Victoria Falls and Bulawayo-Johannesburg flights on December 1, 2014 and March 1, 2015 respectively.
Flyafica.com chief executive Chakanyuka Karase said the Bulawayo-Johannesburg route was introduced in response to customer needs following the successful launch of the Harare-Johannesburg flight recently.
“Today’s announcement is great news for the people of Zimbabwe. We are offering domestic flights between Harare and Victoria Falls for never-before seen prices starting from $79.99, one-way and flights from Bulawayo to Johannesburg with one-way fares starting from $89.99. We promised to bring low fares to the market and we are delighted to be delivering on that promise.”
The airline currently operates a daily Harare-Johannesburg flight and four flights per week between Victoria Falls and Johannesburg.
Karase said the Harare to Victoria Falls and Bulawayo to Johannesburg route is the second stage of the airline’s expansion, with more growth planned throughout 2015.
“Our route expansion is in line with the delivery of our second Boeing 737-500 aircraft into the Flyafrica-Zimbabwe fleet. Our next expansion will be into our neighbouring countries of Mozambique, Zambia, Tanzania and Malawi. We are committed to developing more routes during 2015 and enabling more passengers to travel around Africa without having to use the traditional path of connecting through Johannesburg,” he added.
He said the fast expansion of the airline will continue through 2015.
