Doreen Ganda was the first princess while Diana Mukwarimba came third.
The Miss Personality title went to Tatenda Chitakasha while Nomthandazo Malila scooped the Face of Cornway College.
It was a memorable evening, characterised by glitz and glamour.
In a true style, the girls were elegantly dressed in halter-necks, skimpy dresses and evening gowns and the boys complemented their ladies in tuxedos, caparas suits that would have made Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, P Diddy, Clint Eastwood or Brad Pitt green with envy.
Even the heavy rains that pounded Harare that day were no threat to the third edition of the Miss Cornway College pageant.
Wearing a metallic silver evening gown, Alice captured everyone’s attention and endeared herself to the crowd as she gracefully moved on the catwalk, while beaming a confident smile.
She sailed through her question and answer segment with ease and luck seemed to be on her side, as the cheering crowd fell in love with her (Swag).
Alice was asked to give her thoughts on child abuse, and the teen beauty queen eloquently highlighted that the scourge needed a collective initiative to put an end to it. For her exploits Alice won gift hampers valued at US$500 from Spar and all the 18 models received gift bags which had toiletries, jewellery and make-up kits as tokens of appreciation. Alice, who is a novice in the modelling industry, said she was excited to have won the Miss Cornway College crown.
The young teen beauty queen added that she would use her reign to encourage other girls to be vigilant, confident in themselves and start a project together with the Entertainment and Interact Club to develop the college.
“I think I will start with awareness campaigns on child abuse and try to boost the confidence of my peers so that they know that they play a very important role in society,” she said.
This year’s event was graced by Star Kidz presenter Makanaka Wakatama, former Miss Zimbabwe and Miss Malaika, Brita Masalethulini and Miss Harare Junior Panashe Munetsi.
The night was spiced up with music from Stunner, Shastro and Baba Shupi.
Cornway College’s Bi-Metallics gave the crowd something to smile about with their scintillating dance routines.
Miss Cornway College is an annual event supported by different companies.
