Former CBZ Academy finalists combine talent

It consists of five members, among them award winner, Eric Moyo and Velaphi Gumbo who made their names in the CBZ A Academy finals a few years ago. Moyo is the first winner of Idols Eas t and Southern Africa, a version of the Idol series. In an interview, director of Sound of Inspiration, Asaph Kudita said the group was made up of talented musicians from different suburbs of Bulawayo.

He said other members of the group were himself, Thabo Mlotshwa, and Kira Garura.
“We decided to form this group in 2010 as we did not have a platform to expose our talent since we were all based in Bulawayo,” he said.

Kudita said they came up with the idea of forming the group while they were at church.
“At our church, we have got the most talented singers who have dominated in different talent shows but all of us did not have a platform to showcase our talent,” he said.

Kudita said this was meant to boost entertainment in Bulawayo.
“When we held our first concert in Bulawayo people attended in their large numbers showing us that they really appreciated what we had done for them as musicians from this city,” he said.

He said Sound of Inspiration has been so appealing that it was invited to be part of Intwasa Festival 2011 where the group featured as guests.
“Already our impact has been felt in Bulawayo and we are getting calls from different people inviting us for different functions,” he            said.

Kudita said this year, Sound of Inspiration would spread its wings, as it would be expected to perform in Harare.
“In 2012 we are set to cover most of the country’s cities doing our live shows and our first destination will be Harare before we can go to any other cities,” he said.

In all the shows they have held so far, Kudita said their fans enjoyed the wide range of music that they offer.
“It is a matter of time before we make an impact on the local market as we have got the best music.

“We have five musicians performing on the same show and fans have got a large pool of music to listen to,” he said.
He said so far Bulawayo music lovers had been supportive in all the concerts the group has had in the city.

“It is not true that Bulawayo revellers are not supportive.  For us they have been there for us,” he said.

Kudita said already they were working on a live DVD of the concerts they have held so far.
“We have a team which is already working on our live DVD and we hope it will be on the market by March,” he said.
