THE Bulawayo Social Soccer League (BSSL) has confirmed the dates for the semi-finals of its prestigious Founders Cup, with four teams remaining in the hunt for the coveted title.
The semi-finals will be played in Nketa on July 12 where Mthala will face Iminyela Timers in the opening encounter.
The second semi-final will see 70 Combination take on Date Stars on the same day and at the same venue.
The Founders Cup is the BSSL’s flagship annual tournament, attracting more than 30 social football teams from Bulawayo’s high-density suburbs.
Named in honour of the league’s founding figures, including pioneering administrator Chris Mhlanga, the competition has grown into one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the city’s social football calendar.
The winners of the two semi-finals will advance to the final, with the date and venue for the championship match yet to be confirmed by the league.
The semi-finals are expected to produce exciting contests as the remaining four teams battle for a place in the final and a chance to lift one of Bulawayo’s most prestigious social football trophies.
