THE time has come for “Generations: The Legacy” to bid farewell to a few of its long-standing characters.
Actors Buntu Petse, Karabo Maseko, Zizipho Buti and Rebaone Kgosimore are leaving the beloved soap opera.
“Through their stellar performances, these actors have contributed significantly to the show’s rich history. Their departure marks a bittersweet moment,” the show’s statement reads.
“These actors have consistently demonstrated their talent, dedication and versatility, captivating viewers and earning a special place in the hearts of fans. We will miss them and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”
Kgosimore portrays the character of Paul Moroka Jr in the SABC1 soap opera. Viewers initially expressed dissatisfaction with his acting, raising complaints online.
Buti joined “Generations: The Legacy” in 2020, along with TV presenter-turned-actor Maseko. The actors are moving on to other projects, continuing to build solid names for themselves in the industry.
Petse, a rising star, thanks to the popularity of the Netflix series “Miseducation”, made her debut on “Generations: The Legacy” in December 2019 as Nontle Majola, the rebellious daughter of Ayanda (Samela Tyelbooi).
The characters of Nontle, Luyolo, Tracy and Paul will remain on the screens until the end of November, when a dramatic story arc reaches a mind-blowing conclusion. — Wires

Martin Lawrence, Eddie Murphy: Future in-laws
As the relationship between Martin Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin and Eddie Murphy’s son Eric continues to flourish, Martin shared his thoughts on the romance and the potential wedding bill.
Lawrence and Murphy, former co-workers from the 90s films “Life” and “Boomerang”, are now future in-laws. Their children, Jasmin Page Lawrence and Eric Murphy, publicly launched their relationship on Instagram in 2021.
“It is beautiful. They both are beautiful, young adults and they get along so well,” said Lawrence.
“Whoever would have thought that my child and Eddie’s child would get together? It is just what it is.”
And when it comes to a potential wedding, it is Lawrence who will be reaching for his chequebook.
Murphy said, “I had to pay for it”, Lawrence revealed. He noted Murphy recently footed the bill for daughter Bria Murphy’s wedding to Michael Xavier.
“So he said, ‘I gotta take this one on’.”
Until then, Lawrence is focusing on his “Y’all Know What It Is!” comedy tour, which kicked off in July.
“Being back on the road feels great. The love that the people are showing out there and giving me, I cannot ask for nothing more,” he said.
In fact, this tour marks a milestone for the 59-year-old as he said this is the first time that he is doing an hour headlining in eight years. — Wires
