Four to receive Chinhoyi University of Technology Chancellor’s Awards

FOUR outstanding students will today receive Chancellor’s Awards for exceptional academic performance at the 22nd Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) graduation ceremony.

The awards recognise the best-performing male and female graduates, as well as students who excelled in specific disciplines.

Nyarai Effort Chaibva will receive the Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa Chancellor’s Award for Overall Best Graduating Female Student, alongside the Vice Chancellor’s Award and an award for obtaining a first class degree.

Tanatswa Bhasera will receive the Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa Chancellor’s Award for Overall Best Graduating Male Student, together with the Vice Chancellor’s Award, the POTRAZ Award for Best Graduating ICT Student and the

KiwalConnect Award for the Best Graduating ICT Student with a first class degree.

Both students will also receive US$1 000 each.

The Overall Second Best Graduating Female Student award will go to Leah Plaxcedes Siziba, who will receive the Chancellor’s Award, Vice Chancellor’s Award and recognition for obtaining a first class degree, together with US$500.

Benson Nyamupinga will receive the Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa Chancellor’s Award for Overall Second Best Graduating Male Student, as well as the Vice Chancellor’s Award and recognition for obtaining a first class degree. He will receive US$500 for each award.

The graduation ceremony is being held under the theme: “25 Years of Technology-Driven Scholarship and Transformational Impact Through Heritage-Based Education.”

It has brought together graduands, academics, Government officials, industry representatives and other stakeholders.

Other outstanding graduands are set to receive awards sponsored various organisations including Zimparks, Procurement Regulatory Authprity of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) and funeral assurance provider Doves.
