THE Zanu-PF candidate for Nketa Constituency in Bulawayo, Cde Elifasi Mashaba on Thursday offered free medical services to Nkulumane 5 residents. Speaking on the sidelines of the launch of a doctors’ outreach programme at Esigodlweni in Ward 24, Cde Mashaba said Youth in Business Development Association of Zimbabwe partnered him in the initiative.

“We are reversing empty promises of the former representatives by offering free medical services to the people at their door steps.

“This outreach programme will extend to Wards 25 and 26 in Nketa and it will be open to all residents at Nketa Hall, Emganwini, Nketa 6 and 9 in the coming weeks,” said Cde Mashaba.

He promised to continue with the service every six months as medical fees and hospitalisation were expensive for most people.

“We are in consultations with our partners, a multi-disciplinary alliance of youths in professions of health, information technology, administration, finance and law. They have pledged unwavering support to the party in the constituency with their skills and we are confident that we will win the seat back in the  election so that we empower our people,” he said.

Cde Mashaba said he was working with all aspiring councillors in the constituency from Zanu-PF to offer scholarships to 30 primary school pupils.

“Teachers and businesspeople have also promised to help us in educating those who dropped out of school due to financial problems in the event that we win the election at no cost,” said Cde Mashaba.

More than 500 people accessed free drugs, medical check-ups and consultation on the day.
