ZIMDANCEHALL sensation Takura “Blot” Chiwoniso’s team is elated after he received a free rehabilitation offer in his battle to combat drug and substance abuse from a local clergyman.

The artist, who faced off against Silent Killer during the 2025 Harare Cup Clash, has in the past found himself in trouble after being found in possession of drugs.

He was arrested for possession of crystal meth but was later acquitted of unlawful possession of dangerous drugs in 2023.

The offer came from Prophet Kudakwashe Jose of Victorious Generation International Church during the handover of residential stands to the main winners of the 2025 Harare Cup Clash, Mogo Vibes and Lady D.

“We are glad that Blot has given his life to Christ after realising that it is never too late for him to do so.

“I believe he deserves to check into one of the best rehabilitation centres, where he will return as a new person.

“It’s up to him to accept the offer and that’s the best thing we can do for him right now.

“He is not the only one we plan to help, this is an ongoing programme. This is just the beginning, and we want to see more young people getting support.

“As we indicated, this is part of our campaign where we are ‘saying no to drugs and yes to Jesus.’ We are in this fight together.”

Godfatha Templeman, who presided over the prize-giving ceremony, also commended the clergyman for his initiative.

“This is commendable because free rehabilitation is one of the best things one can ever receive in life.

“Such initiatives are necessary if we are to successfully combat these demons and win this war as a united front.”

Jack Radics, who has been managing Blot’s affairs on both a voluntary and consultancy basis, believes the chanter needs to fully embrace this opportunity for his benefit.

“To be honest, I am happy as someone working closely with him because I do many things for him, like managing and mentoring him for free,” said Radics.

“People of Blot’s calibre need this kind of support and I will always do my best to ensure that he accepts the offer. The ball is in his court and it is my hope that he takes it and comes back in good shape.

“The other commendable thing he has done so far is to give his life to Christ, and it is never too late for him to make such a decision.”

Meanwhile, Fortune “Mogo Vibes” Mandishona, who now owns a residential stand in Donnybrook, Harare, said drug abuse had stifled talent.

“We can only win this war together and everything that has been said here about denouncing drugs makes sense.

“We need to put it into practice to save future generations,” he said.

His fellow winner, Lady D, denounced drug abuse.

“This new cancer has wreaked havoc in several communities and we pray that we can combine our forces to combat this together.

“I am grateful to Prophet Jose, who is spearheading this campaign as one of the main sponsors of the Harare Cup Clash.

“We have been longing for this drive because drug and substance abuse have caused numerous problems,” she said.

Other winners who walked away with prizes, including bedroom suites, cell phones and cash, included TNG Kamukadzi, Hijackers, Young Silent and Mad Flex.
