FREE Stars had a weekend of mixed fortunes after registering one win and a loss in the Bulawayo Netball League weekend programme.
They beat Sobukazi Secondary School 32-10 before losing 20-33 to Zesa and walking over TelOne.Team manager Lisa Mangena said they were still trying to find a winning combination but was happy with the attitude of the girls.
“The girls did well, we are still trying to find a winning formula, but it seems to be coming up,” she said.
Mangena said she was happy with the girls’ progress so far this season.
“Considering that we are rebuilding, the youngsters have done well, I’m happy about the way they have performed so far,” said Mangena.
Zesa had a good run over the weekend as they won all their three matches against Free Stars, Ntabazinduna Prison and Sobukazi.
They beat Ntabazinduna Prison 44-17 and Sobukazi 32-10. High-flying Ntuntu Sparrows continued with their unbeaten run which they took to 22 games this time with Lobengula Queens and TelOne their victims.
Ntutu Sparrows walloped TelOne 112-3 before beating Lobengula Queens 65-12.
