Every device purchased through Parvitech will now include a free 90-day TypeSpark typing licence, moving beyond device access to practical digital enablement
TypeSpark Africa and Parvitech Enterprises have announced a strategic partnership that will see every laptop purchased through Parvitech come bundled with a free 90-day typing licence. With immediate effect, every device delivered will not only provide access to technology, but also actively build one of the most essential digital skills: typing.
This partnership reflects a shared vision to move beyond access to devices and focus on practical digital enablement. As Parvitech continues to evolve into a provider of customised technology solutions for schools, SMEs, and institutions, the integration of foundational digital skills into every deployment marks a critical step in ensuring technology delivers real impact.
Across Africa, a major gap remains between device access and effective usage.
According to UNESCO, four in five children aged 10 are unable to read a simple text, and even fewer possess foundational digital skills.
In Zimbabwe, the challenge is further compounded by high data costs — ranging from approximately $3.54 to over $15 per gigabyte — limiting access to online learning platforms for many households. As a result, devices introduced into classrooms and homes are often underutilised due to a lack of structured, accessible training tools.
Since its founding in 2022, Parvitech Enterprises has positioned itself as a trusted partner in delivering end-to-end technology solutions. The company works closely with schools, businesses, and development partners to design and implement tailored technology packages that support productivity, learning, and digital transformation.
Through its community engagement and education-focused initiatives, Parvitech continues to play a leading role in expanding access to meaningful technology use across Zimbabwe.
TypeSpark Africa, an initiative of the LeNoir Foundation, addresses the foundational skills gap through a structured and accessible approach to learning. The platform teaches touch-typing through 24 guided lessons, interactive games, timed tests, and a progressive achievement system. Built on the Byte Back methodology — which introduces learners to the home row and develops full keyboard mastery step by step — the platform operates entirely offline once installed, making it highly suitable for low-connectivity environments. It is available in seven African languages and is designed to be intuitive enough for children as young as six to use independently.
“Organisations and families invest in laptops, but the most basic skill — knowing how to use the keyboard — is left to chance. We have spent years watching devices arrive in classrooms with no plan for teaching children how to actually use them. This partnership with Parvitech changes that. Every device now arrives as a learning tool from the moment it is switched on.”
— James Mawaka, Founder, TypeSpark Africa / LeNoir Foundation
“Our mission has always been to deliver technology that creates real value for the organisations and communities we serve. But a device on its own is only part of the equation. By integrating TypeSpark into our deployments, we are ensuring that every laptop we deliver actively contributes to building foundational digital capability. This partnership is a natural evolution of how we think about technology — not just as hardware, but as a platform for enablement.”
— Parvitech Enterprises.
For families purchasing a personal laptop, the 90-day licence provides a structured introduction to typing that children can follow on their own.
For schools and institutions working with Parvitech on bulk deployments, the software arrives ready on every machine, with no additional infrastructure, internet access or training required.
This partnership represents a shift from simply delivering devices to enabling capability.
By embedding digital skills training directly into every laptop, TypeSpark Africa and Parvitech Enterprises are contributing to a future where technology is not only accessible, but truly empowering.
Those wishing to continue beyond the 90-day trial can access extended licences starting at $1.99 per year for individuals, or $30 per year for schools covering up to 30 students. Schools and organisations interested in bulk licensing may contact [email protected].
