Freelancers to spice up T20 tourney

The 2011 edition of the Zimbabwe Stanbic Pro20 Series is set to explode in runs and wickets as big-hitting Chris Gayle and Shaun Tait are in town to spice up the 25 November to 4 December tournament which will be broadcast live on SuperSport on DStv.

In a statement MultiChoice Zimbabwe Marketing manager, Elizabeth Dziva said Gayle who will turn out for  Matabeleland Tuskers, and Tait, who will represent Mid West Rhinos, have become freelancers of a sort in T20 cricket, criss-crossing continents with different employers. 
“I am a cricketer and I want to play, I want to use my time wisely, entertain some people  and try to do some good,” Gayle said.

Dziva said from Zimbabwe the two will  head down to Australia for the   T20 Big Bash where they will represent the Sydney Thunder and the Melbourne Renegades respectively before jetting back to Africa to represent the Dolphins in the South African domestic T20  competition.
Also joining them in Zimbabwe is another T20 freelance, Dirk Nannes, who will turn out for the Mountaineers along with Phil Mustard from England. Dutch international Ryan ten Doeschate and South Africa’s Andrew Hall return to the defending champions Mashonaland Eagles, who have also added Somerset’s Peter Trego. The Chronicle
