DANCEHALL sensation Freeman HKD delivered a career-defining performance in Cape Town on Saturday, pulling one of the largest crowds since he started touring South Africa.

The HKD boss took to the stage before a sea of ecstatic fans, who sang along to his biggest hits.

It turned the venue into a vibrant celebration of Zimbabwean music and culture.

The show, which had been highly anticipated by fans in Mzansi, exceeded expectations as people came out in their numbers to witness the star in action.

Speaking after the performance, Freeman could not hide his excitement at the overwhelming turnout.

“I was impressed and happy with the attendance of people,” he said.

“I’ve done many shows in Cape Town, but this has never happened. Thank you for your support.”

The event highlighted Freeman’s growing influence beyond Zimbabwe, with fans from different backgrounds coming together to enjoy his energetic set.

Many fans described the show as unforgettable, praising both his stage presence and his ability to connect with the audience.

One fan, Tapiwa Moyo, said the performance proved Freeman’s consistency and growth as an artist.

“Freeman is getting bigger and bigger. The way people showed up here, it’s clear he is now an international artist.

“We are proud of him,” she said.

Another fan, Nomsa Dlamini, echoed similar sentiments, noting that the turnout reflected his expanding fan base.

“I’ve been to shows here before, but this one was different.

“The crowd was huge, and everyone knew the songs. It shows how far he has come,” she said.

For some, the concert was more than just entertainment.

It was a reminder of home.

They waved flags and sang along word for word, creating a strong sense of unity.

“It felt like being back in Zimbabwe,” said Brighton Ncube.

“Freeman gave us that connection. The energy was amazing and you could see how much people love him.”

Music analysts say the Cape Town show is a sign of Freeman’s steady rise on the regional music scene.

Over the years, he has built a loyal following through hit songs and consistent performances, gradually expanding his reach into neighbouring countries.

Saturday’s turnout, however, appears to mark a new chapter in his career one where his appeal stretches far beyond borders.

Fans also took to social media after the show, sharing videos and praising the artist for delivering a top-tier performance.

Many highlighted the crowd size as proof that Zimbabwean dancehall continues to make waves internationally.

With such momentum, expectations are now high for Freeman’s upcoming shows, as supporters anticipate even bigger performances in the future.

As the night ended, one thing was clear.

Freeman’s star continues to rise and, if the Cape Town crowd is anything to go by, his journey to becoming one of the region’s biggest acts is well and truly underway.
