AT just 22 years old, Adrian Dingiswayo’s journey mirrors that of many his age, yet his accomplishments stand out, seemingly achieved with grace that belies the effort behind them. As a senior at Africa University, Dingiswayo has taken his youthful endeavours to new heights. He is the mastermind behind the hit podcast The Morning Muse, a sensation across Southern Africa with a staggering 700 000+ downloads.

His prowess isn’t confined to the digital dominion; Dingiswayo has also made his mark in the sporting world, proudly representing his nation on multiple fronts. The year 2020 brought a formidable challenge — a fierce battle with cerebral meningitis. The ordeal halted his academic pursuits, but kindled a fierce determination to overcome adversity.

Dingiswayo’s tenacity has not only seen him through personal trials, but has also propelled him into the sphere of global diplomacy. His insights have earned him a coveted spot in high-stakes discussions on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and he has stood as Zimbabwe’s voice as a Model United Nations delegate — an honour bestowed on only a select few of his peers. His remarkable recovery is a powerful affirmation of his indomitable spirit.
“The path to becoming a United Nations diplomat was demanding and competitive. Out of 800 applicants, I was chosen as one of the 13 distinguished individuals to represent Zimbabwe at events in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from July 21-24, and in the USA from March 10-13, 2025,” he recounts.

This opportunity further opened doors for Dingiswayo, leading to his participation in the International Model United Nations as the Zimbabwean delegate for the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
“Our discussions revolved around ‘Mitigating the Humanitarian Impact and Promoting a Ceasefire in the Israel-Palestine Conflict,’ during a conference held from June 14-16, 2024.

“Through these platforms, I have refined my diplomatic skills and contributed to global dialogues on human rights and conflict resolution,” Dingiswayo reflects. Interactions with fellow diplomats, he notes, have profoundly influenced his life, enriching his grasp of global politics and bolstering his negotiation skills. “My diplomatic journey has been significantly shaped by my experiences at the UNHRC conference, where I represented Zimbabwe in discussions concerning the Israel-Palestine conflict.

“This role necessitated a deep dive into the complexities of the conflict, understanding various stakeholders’ positions, and articulating Zimbabwe’s stance on achieving a ceasefire and mitigating humanitarian impacts. “The rigorous negotiations and strategic sessions with diplomats from around the world broadened my insight into international diplomacy.” He emphasises that these experiences have honed his diplomatic abilities and instilled in him a profound sense of responsibility towards global peace endeavours.

“They have equipped me to advocate for human rights effectively and reinforced my dedication to contributing to meaningful dialogues and resolutions in international conflicts.” Dingiswayo’s The Morning Muse has not only captured the hearts of listeners but has also risen to become a Trending Podcast phenomenon in Africa. His resonating voice in the podcasting world has crossed borders, earning him international acclaim. He’s been spotlighted in Podcast Sessions Magazine and has graced the stages of premier podcasting events, including the Podcast Conference in the United States and Togo in 2022.

Dingiswayo’s interview finesse has brought him face-to-face with icons like the hip-hop artiste Kwesta, the soulful singer Shekhinah, the visually-striking work of Nick Boulton, and the critical insights of renowned Idols judge Gareth Cliff. Amid his academic endeavours in Computer Science at Africa University, Dingiswayo has shone in roles of student governance and cultural promotion

His altruistic venture, “Steps of Hope,” has seen over 500 pairs of school shoes delivered to Zimbabwean children, a gesture that elevates hope and fosters dreams. His support extends to orphanages, highlighting a deep-seated dedication to societal betterment.
“My academic journey began at The Heritage School, a place that nurtured my development from preschool through to my graduation in 2020. During my time there, I served as a prefect and proudly represented my country in rugby, swimming and chess.

“Subsequently, I pursued higher education at Africa University, specialising in Computer Science. My university tenure has been highlighted by leadership and service; as a sub-warden. I was elected into the SRC and as the Social Welfare Secretary, I spearheaded the pads campaign, successfully distributing over 1 500 units of sanitary wear to women in the community at no charge.

“As I near my final year, with graduation set for June next year, I look back on these experiences as pivotal chapters in my educational narrative.”
Dingiswayo reflects on the adage “everything happens for a reason”, embracing it as a source of comfort and a lens for understanding life. The philosophy has not only guided him through personal tribulations, but also shaped his worldview, providing a steadfast anchor amid the ebb and flow of experiences.

“It reminds us to find meaning even in adversity. In every situation that happens in your life whether good or bad, learn the lesson in it and use that to help inspire others and make someone else’s journey who’s dealing with what you’ve been through easier.”
