Funeral service for late Dr Zibusiso Lunga founder of Lighthouse High School, starts at SDA Church

THE funeral service for the late Dr Zibusiso Lunga, the founder of Lighthouse High School in Pumula South, Bulawayo, is underway at Selborne Park Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Bulawayo.

Dr Lunga passed away on Saturday at approximately 5 a.m. at Mater Dei Hospital after a prolonged battle with a liver-related illness.

He was 62 years old, having been born on 8th August 1962.

He leaves behind his wife and three daughters.

Dr Lunga is remembered and honoured for his immense contributions to the education sector. He began his career as a teacher at Shashane in Kezi, before serving as Headmaster at Maranatha Adventist Secondary School. In 2019, he founded Lighthouse High School, which has become a beacon of education in the region.

In addition to his work in education, Dr Lunga also ran a construction company, through which he left a lasting impact by building structures at the schools where he served.

Following the service at Selbourne Park, Dr Lunga will be laid to rest at the Solusi University cemetery later this afternoon.
