HELL hath no fury like an angry woman.

A furious woman attacked her husband and left him nursing serious facial injuries after she splashed boiling cooking oil all over his face.

This followed an altercation between the two.

Acting Provincial Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Effort Chapoto, confirmed the case which happened in Makawa Village, Chief Chivero, Mhondoro.

Norbert Makawa, 36, suffered serious injuries when boiling cooking was splashed all over his face on January 27.

The incident happened at about 5am.

Chapoto said Makawa and Melody Tambudzai (40) had a long-standing domestic dispute.

He said when Makawa arrived home late from a beer drink, his wife was not amused.

“A misunderstanding arose and they retired to bed without solving the matter amicably.

“Tambudzai woke up at around 5am and boiled some cooking oil in a pan and poured it all over Nobert’s face whilst he was fast asleep,” said Insp Chapoto

He said Makawa suffered serious facial burns.

However, Tambudzai took some medication and tried to nurse her husband.

Makawa filed a police report that same day.

“Domestic violence cases are on the increase as people are fighting over issues that can be solved by engaging counsellors or the victim friendly unit officers,” said Insp Chapoto.

“Fighting doesn’t solve anything.”
