Speaking on behalf of Minister of Media, Information and Publicity Webster Shamu, Mr Collins Mungate congratulated Gasa on his progress, saying the ministry cherished every moment a young artiste embarks on such projects.
“This is a historic day for Gasa and the ministry; we cherish the good work that he is contributing to the music industry.
“We have undying love for such energetic young artistes and we are more than willing to nurture their talent,” he said.
Mr Mungate said the ministry was considering adding Gasa to the list of performers at national galas in the future.
“As you have noticed that the ministry creates platforms for upcoming artistes. We want another Oliver Mtukudzi or another Thomas Mapfumo, so it is important to give due attention to these artistes,” he added.
Turning to piracy, Mr Mungate said people must give Gasa time to enjoy the fruits of his hard work.
His father, Mr Webster Gasa, cautioned his son to beware vultures waiting to pounce and plunder all the hard work being done by other people.
“I am very happy for you son (Romeo), but be warned that now you have started your musical career on a high note. The industry demands discipline as well as focus because if you fail to take that into consideration, you might die a wishing horse,” said Mr Gasa.
The launch ended on a high note with the album fetching US$200 price following an auction.
