HIGHLANDERS, reeling from their fourth defeat of the season at the hands of Simba Bhora yesterday, will arrive in town for a midweek, mid-table clash against the inconsistent Manica Diamonds at Sakubva Stadium on Wednesday.
Kick-off is at 3 pm.
In recent years, Highlanders, like fellow giants CAPS United and Dynamos, have seen their massive fan base dwindle, and their away matches, especially midweek fixtures, ceasing to attract the crowds they once did.
Both Manica Diamonds and Highlanders occupy mid-table positions on the latest Castle Lager Premiership log.
Manica Diamonds sit ninth, having won four matches, drawn eight, and lost three, while Highlanders are in an unfamiliar 10th position, with four wins from 15 matches.
Ahead of the clash, the Kevin Kaindu-coached Highlanders have drawn seven matches and lost four.
The two teams are separated by just a single point, with Manica Diamonds holding a slender advantage.
Wednesday:
TelOne v ZPC Kariba (Ascot Stadium); Herentals College v FC Platinum (Rufaro Stadium); Simba Bhora v Bikita Minerals (Wadzanai Stadium; Manica Diamonds v Highlanders (Sakubva Stadium); Chicken Inn v Ngezi Platinum (Luveve Stadium); GreenFuel v Scottland (GreenFuel Arena):
Thursday:
Dynamos v Yadah FC (Rufaro Stadium); MWOS v CAPS United (Ngoni Stadium); Kwekwe United v Triangle United FC (Bata Stadium)
