German football team switches hotels

The Germany football team were forced to change their hotel in Paris yesterday, after a bomb scare at their luxury accommodation ahead of their friendly against France later in the day.

A police investigation was ongoing at the Hotel Molitor in the plush western region of Paris with all rooms being checked for any signs of suspicious evidence.

The world champions headed for Stade de France late yesterday to take on the Euro 2016 hosts in the first meeting since Germany eliminated France 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.  — AFP
