WORLD evangelists have commended ongoing infrastructure development across Zimbabwe and underscored the importance of the gospel in promoting peace, a key factor in accelerating service delivery and national development.
Speaking after paying a courtesy call on President Mnangagwa at State House in Harare yesterday, Ugandan Pastor Robert Kayanja, who was accompanying renowned evangelist Benny Hinn, applauded the country’s growth and transformation.
Evangelist Benny Hinn is in Zimbabwe for a three-day crusade slated for Ashdown Park, Harare.
“Yes, His Excellency received us very well. We talked about so many issues,” said Pastor Kayanja.
“First of all, we thank him for the development that we are seeing in Zimbabwe. Pastor Benny mentioned that Zimbabwe works like a centre of Southern Africa. As Zimbabwe receives the gospel, continues to be blessed, then the rest of the African continent and the nations around will also begin to do that.”
Pastor Kayanja underscored the importance of the gospel in promoting peace and curbing vices such as drug and substance abuse.
“The President also mentioned that the gospel is needed, especially to help the young people because their number one problem now is drug abuse,” he added.
“The President also said if just 25 percent of the nation is peaceful, then it will enable the Government to deliver services and develop the country quickly.
“So, it was a very productive meeting.”
Evangelist Benny urged Zimbabweans to attend the crusade.
“Thank you for being here, and now we are on our way to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Zimbabwe,” he said.
“So, thank you again. God bless you all. We are calling upon everybody today, tomorrow, especially tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, to show up at Hampton Park Miracle Grounds and come and hear the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Heartfelt International Ministries founder, Apostle Tavonga Vutabwashe, also called on Zimbabweans to attend the crusade, adding that it would be explosive.
Evangelist Hinn was accompanied to the State House by Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Barbara Rwodzi, Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera and other Government officials.
Evangelist Hinn’s visit marks a major success for Zimbabwe’s Religious Tourism Cluster.
The cluster is helping to diversify the tourism sector and attract new streams of visitors.
According to the Tourism Ministry, the Benny Hinn Crusade is projected to attract around 45 000 domestic tourists and 3 000 international religious visitors, injecting revenue into accommodation, transport, food and energy sectors across Harare.
The crusade is expected to reinforce Zimbabwe’s reputation as a regional hub for religious and cultural tourism, aligning with the Government’s broader goal of promoting diverse tourism experiences rooted in the nation’s heritage and faith.
