After Miss Universe Zimbabwe queen Sakhile Dube secured a spot in the top 30 at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico, Zimbabwe is keeping its momentum in the pageantry world.
A major announcement from the organisers of Miss World Zimbabwe has revealed that South African-based, Zimbabwean-born television presenter and media personality Kim Jayde will be returning to her roots as the official host of the Miss World Zimbabwe 2024 pageant.
The announcement has added to the excitement surrounding the pageant as Zimbabwe continues to celebrate and elevate its representatives on the international stage. It also marks a full-circle moment for the former MTV presenter, who is eager to showcase her talents on home soil.
Jayde, who first ventured into the entertainment industry after relocating to South Africa at the age of 18 to pursue her studies at Stellenbosch University, has since made a name for herself as a prominent media figure.
After years of modelling, she landed her big break as a presenter on MTV Base’s popular entertainment show, “Newsish”, where she kept audiences updated on the latest in music and entertainment.

With numerous accolades to her name, including recognition on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, Jayde is not just a presenter but also a successful entrepreneur.
Her recent announcement on Instagram radiates her excitement: “Your Host for Miss World Zimbabwe 2024,” she wrote, revealing that she had been eagerly waiting to share the news.
“I’m coming home. A massive thank you to @zimbutterfly for trusting me with such a huge honour—I cannot wait to touch down in Harare and be part of the Miss World Zimbabwe family as we build on the legacy of this special country.”
The Miss World Zimbabwe 2024 event is set to take place on November 30 at the luxurious Siyekhaya Estate in Borrowdale, Harare.
This year’s theme, “Beauty with a Purpose”, emphasises the transformative power of beauty in creating positive societal change.
The event will also feature special guest Nokutenda Marumbwa, the winner of the 71st Miss World Head to Head Challenge.
As Kim prepares to host this prestigious event, her return to Zimbabwe not only highlights her personal journey but also reinforces her commitment to her roots. With her infectious enthusiasm and dedication, she is poised to make this year’s pageant a memorable celebration of beauty and empowerment.
This is indeed a moment to celebrate as Jayde embraces her heritage and takes centre stage in an event that promises to blend glamour with a meaningful purpose. – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofu
