GLOW Petroleum Netball Club are stamping their authority on the Rainbow Netball League, dismantling every opponent and maintaining their perfect record.
The log leaders cruised through another round of bubble-hosted fixtures over the weekend, reinforcing their dominance both in results and statistics. They have now amassed a staggering 1 695 goals, while conceding only 578 — figures that underscore their stranglehold on the competition.
Hot on their heels are Correctional Netball Club, trailing by just two points with a game in hand.
Correctional have actually scored more goals than Glow Petroleum, and their upcoming fixtures could yet reshape the standings at the top.
At the opposite end of the table, Yadah and Chibwe remain stuck in the relegation zone. Both sides have managed only two wins in 23 games, leaving them marooned on four points.
Yadah showed some fight when they stunned Rio Zim 50–25, but that spark was quickly extinguished by Correctional, who crushed them 86–19 later in the day.
League fixtures secretary Precious Mudenge said the table was beginning to take shape as teams intensify their battles for position.
“The log table is now beginning to take shape as teams fight for better positions. Some sides boosted their squads during the recent window and from position five to nine only a point or two separates the teams. That shows how competitive the league has become,” she said.
Mudenge also highlighted the increasing pace of the matches.
“94 goals were scored in just one hour. That shows the speed and intensity the league has now reached,” she said.
