adminmanager Mr Albert Mandizha said it was everyone’s responsibility to assist the needy.
GMB, he said, was operating under harsh economic conditions, but still had the plight of underprivileged children at heart.
Mr Mandizha said Zimbabweans should help disadvantaged children.
“Let us not leave the responsibility to the organisation. Play your part in helping those in need,” he said.
“Our economy is not doing well at the moment, but the little that you have will make a difference.” Mr Mandizha expressed hope other stakeholders will chip in to assist organisations such as Oasis to meet their day-to- day requirements.
He urged the children at Oasis to embark on self-help projects like agriculture to sustain themselves.
“I heard you wanted to start agricultural projects, which is a noble idea,” he said.
“GMB will offer you agronomists for free to assist you in having better yields. Keep on finding better ways of sustaining yourself.” The goods were donated under the Tanaka project, which Oasis Zimbabwe is running.
The project is aimed at reaching out to children facing the brunt of poverty and HIV and AIDS.
Oasis Zimbabwe chief executive Mr Kevin Britts said the children at the home needed tremendous support, as they were future leaders of the nation.
“This is our future and we should give them the best. It is difficult to take care of the children but with support from companies like GMB we will achieve our intentions,” he said.
Tanaka has groomed a number of children some of whom are already for various degrees at local universities.
