What started as a normal afternoon in the fields turned violent when a Karoi man snapped over a stray goat — leaving a 12-year-old boy battered and bruised!
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), Joseph Chipangano of Kangausaru Village lost his temper on 23 March 2025 after spotting one of the boy’s goats munching in his field.
Chipangano, brick in hand, stormed towards the child and launched it — narrowly missing. But he wasn’t done. The enraged villager then booted the young herdboy in the stomach before dragging him to his home, where he locked the terrified child in a bedroom.
What followed was pure horror: Chipangano flogged the boy with switches, leaving him with bruises all over his body and a swollen face and head.
Justice caught up with him at Karoi Magistrates’ Court, where he was fined US$200. Failure to pay will land him 2 months behind bars. He also received a 12-month suspended sentence for 5 years.
