A TSHOLOTSHO man who thought he could feast on someone else’s goat has been convicted of stock theft and ordered to pay back the value of the stolen animal.
Praymore Sibanda (30) appeared before the Tsholotsho Magistrates’ Court after stealing a billy-goat belonging to Moses Ncube (33).
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the theft happened on 11 August 2025 around 7pm. Sibanda “stole a male goat and went away unnoticed.”
The following morning at around 7AM, Ncube discovered the goat missing and reported the matter to the police. Investigations led to Sibanda’s arrest and the recovery of goat meat and the goat skin.
The NPAZ confirmed that “the total value of the stolen property was R900, but nothing was recovered.”
Sibanda was sentenced to four months imprisonment, wholly suspended on condition that he restitutes ZAR 900 to Ncube.
