Faith Moves Mountains
“AND Joseph said to his brethren, ‘I am going to die, but God will surely visit you and bring you out of this land to the land He swore to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob (to give you).’ And Joseph took an oath from the sons of Israel, saying, ‘God will surely visit you and you will carry up my bones from here.’” — Genesis 50:24-25
Welcome to October, a month of divine visitation.
Joseph, despite being in a foreign land surrounded by uncertainty, declared with conviction: “God will surely visit you.”
He knew that God’s visitation would bring about a change in their circumstances: a shift from slavery to freedom, from hardship to prosperity.
In these verses, Joseph not only prophesied God’s visitation but also demonstrated his trust in the Almighty’s faithfulness.
He took an oath from his brothers, ensuring that they would carry his bones to the Promised Land.
This act symbolised their future departure from Egypt and showcases Joseph’s understanding of God’s character — a God who keeps His promises and is faithful to His people.
Today, we can draw inspiration from Joseph’s declaration.
God’s visitation is not limited to the Israelites in Egypt; it is a promise that extends to us today. We may be facing our own “Egypts” — challenges, struggles and uncertainties — but we can trust that God will surely visit us.
He will bring about a change, a breakthrough or a new chapter in our lives.
As we await God’s visitation, let us hold onto the promises of Scripture.
Let us trust in God’s faithfulness, knowing that He keeps His
word. May we, like Joseph, declare with conviction: “God will surely visit me.”
May we experience the manifestation of God’s promises in our lives and may we emerge from our own “Egypts” with testimony and triumph.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, we believe in Your faithfulness and promise-keeping nature. We trust that You will surely visit us, bringing about change, breakthroughs and prosperity. Give us the faith to hold onto Your promises, even in the midst of uncertainty. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
