ZULU/Ndebele folklore musician, formerly known as Bekezela, has embraced his calling and rebranded to the name Gog’ Bekezela.

To celebrate his over 15-year musical career, Gog’ Bekezela has planned a gig organised by Dab Three Events and Gobela Music, set to take place on October 5 at the Bulawayo Theatre from 6pm.

The one-man show aims to celebrate all the successes the artist has achieved, most notably his career’s impact in the SADC region and beyond.

Bekezela’s management team, represented by Ntando Ndlovu from KBM Agency, stated that this event is an opportunity for people to get to know Gog’ Bekezela more intimately.

“Gogo Bekezela’s upcoming show, ‘The Journey Of A Gobela,’ promises an immersive experience that blends traditional African music, spirituality, and storytelling. As a celebrated cultural musician, Gogo Bekezela will take the audience on a journey through the sounds and wisdom of African heritage.

“This performance will be a unique celebration of culture, rhythm, and African music, while offering audiences a glimpse of Gogo Bekezela’s new music,” said Ndlovu.

Dab Three Events director, Archford Hadebe, mentioned that this is an opportunity for Gog’ Bekezela’s fans to come and celebrate his life and better understand his transition.

“We have been working with Bekezela since he wanted to form his Gobela music agency here and have been handling part of his works. The aim of the gig is to showcase Bekezela’s music journey from the past to the present.

“People can expect a range of spiritual and healing songs, along with a few from his past catalogue, like the song ‘Bekezela,’” said Hadebe.
