Goko tourney reaches semis

Twelve primary schools in Chipinge battled it out last weekend to see who will go to the next stage of the Goko trophy.
At Goko School, three fought for the bragging rights and these are Goko, Birchenough and Devuli. Goko stole the honours in both netball and football.

At Maunganidze Primary School Nyunga, Bangwe and the host school clashed with the result that Maunganidze and Bangwe won the right to go the next round in soccer and netball respectively.

Manesa hosted Mutema and Charuma primary schools on the same day.

Mutema School beat all teams in soccer while Manesa represented the sub-zone in netball for the semi finals.

Musani School grabbed both slots for the semi finals in soccer and netball when it shrugged off stiff competition from Nyamure and Tanganda Schools.

The semi finals are pencilled in for 12 July 2014 at a yet to be named place, Maxwell Chaya, the coordinator of the tournament, confirmed early this week.
