Gokwe receives $320k for reticulation

Gokwe Town Council received $320 000 for reticulation, a development that will see more than 3 000 households connected to tap water.

In an interview, Gokwe town secretary Ms Melania Mandeya said the money had already been handed to IDBZ, awaiting release to contractors soon after completion of the job.

“We received the first batch of the fund we applied for under the Public Service Investment Programme (PSIP),” he said.

“We initially applied for $720 000, which was approved and I am happy we received the first batch.”

Ms Mandeya said the money will be used to connect piped water to about 3 000 households in Njelele residential area.

“We are supposed to connect water to Njelele and Mafungautsi, but we received the first batch that we are going to use for piped water connection for Njelele,” he said.
