GONE COLD

COLE PALMER is increasingly disillusioned with life at Chelsea and primed to leave this summer.

Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are all interested in the £150million-rated England star.

Palmer, 23, is understood to be frustrated by a change in Chelsea’s tactics which he feels have denied him space on the pitch.

And he misses playing with striker Nicolas Jackson, who is on a season-long loan at Bayern Munich.

Jackson’s pace and movement complemented the skills of playmaker Palmer, who scored 18 goals and provided 14 assists last season. The Senegalese striker left in September after Chelsea landed forwards Joao Pedro and Liam Delap in the summer.

Former Manchester City man Palmer has struggled for form this season while battling groin and toe injuries.

Liam Rosenior’s Blues are sixth in the Prem and at serious risk of missing out on a Champions League place.

Failing to secure a spot in Europe’s top club competition would surely further damage the club’s hopes of holding on to boyhood United fan Palmer.

Chelsea were hammered 8-2 on aggregate by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League round-of-16 before a 3-0 humbling by Everton last Saturday.

Palmer expressed his frustration at teammate Neto for denying him a shot at goal during the defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Insiders insist Palmer has not downed tools, despite his under-par season.

Chelsea consider Palmer to be an ‘untouchable’ and he is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2033. SunSport revealed earlier this season that Palmer is unsettled in London and hankering for a return to his hometown of Manchester.

He would be open to joining the Reds, although United’s priority positions this summer are midfield and the left-hand side.

United director of football Jason Wilcox was the academy head at City when Palmer was breaking through.

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe became the United co-owner two years ago, the club have hired several former senior City figures.

Aside from Wilcox and Berrada, United performance director Sam Erith and communications officials Toby Craig and Cat Smith all used to work at City. —The Sun
