FORMER Black Rhinos goalkeeper Lennon Gonese bade farewell to the club after serving for three years.

The versatile goalminder’s contract expired at the end of last year, and it was not renewed ahead of the ZIFA Northern Region Division One Soccer League 2025 season.

In a farewell message, the 25-year-old former Dynamos player said he was happy to be leaving “Chauya Chipembere” after three good years.

“The last three years with “Chauya Chipembere” had truly been an uplifting experience that has seen me evolve and grow into a better player than I am today. I came as a greenhorn joining the side in 2021, and I became a more accomplished and better professional person.

“The role of being the first-choice goalkeeper of the team was truly a pleasure to me; guiding the team to be in the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals in 2023 was an absolute honour.

“Black Rhinos has been a warm and welcoming home for me, and it will always be my home.” I would like to take this opportunity to thank the club management and coaches who entrusted me to represent the army side,” said Gonese. Gonese praised his teammates for the time and support he received during his stay at Black Rhinos.

“To my fellow teammates, I am grateful for the time we were together, and I wish the team all the best. The support and love we shared was great, and as I bid farewell, I do so with a heart full of gratitude,” added Gonese.
