A Mpopoma suburb-based gospel group Eternal Plan is charting a new course for the local, regional and international gospel scene. The group whose membership is open to those as little as 13 years old, is also providing a sanctuary to members against the vagaries of the fast life their peers are living.
Organised and co-founded by Thaddaeus Mcebisi Mavunde and Nqobani Brendon Dube in mid-2018, the group has steadily been moulded into a vocal juggernaut that is promising to set the gospel industry on a new trajectory.
The vibrant and dynamic group is driven by the charge given by Jesus Christ to go into the nations to preach the gospel so that many are saved. The flair with which they carry out that mandate is unparalleled.
High flying from recording their video for their debut single titled Uyangenzela, the group has also been given a platform to participate at the 17th edition of the Intwasa Arts Festival this month.
Does this mark dawn of a new era in an industry that has for decades been dominated by the old guard? There are very strong indications that the young want to takeover and call the tune in the world of gospel music.
Backed by their own band called Sync Music, the TRB Music Company-owned gospel outfit is promising to go places and gospel music lovers should keep an eye on this gospel brigade that has arisen in the City of Kings and Queens. — @eMKlass_49
