The DVD is made up of six tracks from the group’s second album, Komborerai Mafaro, which was released in 2010.
The leader of the group, Ackim Zarira said that the DVD comprised of recordings from the group’s live performances and other recordings which they had done in the past year.
“This DVD will be made up of performances we did in the past year mixed with clips of videos we also recorded during the same period,” said Zarira.
Zarira said the group, which belongs to the Church of Christ religious denomination, made the DVD as a response to those who say Bulawayo artistes are dead and lack initiative or artistic innovation.
“We would like to show people that artistes in Bulawayo are not dead, but we can start our own projects that can be successful and have an impact on the local music scene,” said Zarira.
He said during the making of the DVD the group had faced financial and transport problems, as it took much time and effort to come up with the DVD.
“We faced financial and transport problems as separate sections of the DVD were recorded in Dadaya, Matopos and Bulawayo, hence putting all the clips together was a difficult process,” said Zarira.
He said some of the proceeds from the sale of the album would go to the church whose members had given them loyal support since the release of their first album in 2004.
“We have people coming to us and asking whether we were singing about them in particular songs especially the song Dinokunda Chete from our first album. People like that particular song because it is inspiring,” said Zarira.
Zarira said the group is inspired by Charles Charamba because of the depth he exhibits in his songs, something which the group would like to emulate.
Besides Zarira the group’s other members are Mirirai Magama, Elizabeth Chishaya, Masauso Mhlanga and Khulekani Mpofu.
