THE Bulawayo Gospel music scene has gained an exciting performer, Wisdom Chawinga, who is eager to shine and make a mark in the industry, through his music that fuses Praise and Worship.
The 30 year-old artiste is inspired by the likes of seasoned South African producer and singer Bishop Benjamin Dube, Minister Michael Mahendere, amongst other Gospel greats.
Chawinga said their music and ministry has had a profound impact in his life, and that inspired him to venture into music.
As such, the muso has dropped a new single titled Ungu Jehovah, that gives glory and honour to the Almighty.
“My latest single, Ungu Jehovah, is all about proclaiming the greatness of God. I was moved by the word of God to share this message, and it’s a reflection of my desire to uplift and inspire others through music. Though my ministry, I acknowledge Jehovah, as He is the one who bestowed me with this gift,” said Chawinga.
Just like most up and coming artistes, Chawinga has had his fair share of difficulties in penentrating the industry.
“The journey has been a struggle especially in a way to access resources and funds to produce more music. As an independent artiste, it’s a challenge to get the necessary support, but we’re pushing through,” he said.
He revealed that the year 2026 is a seawon for him to announce his arrival, as his plans are underway to launch his maiden album.
“My dream is to release a full-length album, it’s something I’ve been working towards, and I’m excited to share it with my fans. So far, I’ve only released singles, but I’m eager to give my audience a more comprehensive body of work.
“This year, I’m focusing on finishing my debut album and releasing about three new singles. It’s gonna be a big year, and I’m excited to share my music with everyone,” said Chawinga.
