GOSPEL sensation, Prince Chigwida, has announced the first edition of the ‘Resona Experience’ set for November in Harare.
And, he’s promising it will be more than just a concert.
The event is being positioned as a night of worship, healing and connection, built around the very meaning of its name: Resona.
It comes from the word “resonate” — to produce a deep, clear, continuing sound, and to evoke a strong emotional and personal connection.
“That is exactly what we want,” Chigwida said. To create a space where people come together, be motivated, be encouraged, and leave feeling God has spoken to them through music.”
For years, Chigwida has been one of the most recognisable voices in the *Zion Christian Church (ZCC Mbungo).
“I might as well surprise my people with an album on the day,” he said.
“God has been speaking. The songs are ready. If the timing is right, we release it at Resona.”
A new project from Chigwida would be his first major body of work since ‘Ndiringei Mambo’ blew up.
The launch comes at a time when Zimbabwean gospel music is enjoying a resurgence, with artists filling theatres instead of just church halls.
For Chigwida, Resona is both a brand and a mission. “We are tired of just coming, singing and going,” he said.
“Resona is about that sound that follows you home. That word that wakes you up at 3am. That’s the experience we’re praying for on November 21.”
With ‘Ndiringei Mambo’ still pulling thousands of streams and church covers weekly, and with an album potentially on the table, promoters are confident the ext show will be a hit. His breakout anthem ‘Ndiringei Mambo’ turned him into a household name with its raw plea and soaring delivery becoming a staple in churches across Zimbabwe.
He followed it with ‘Ndireverere Ndipone,’ and ‘Gore Rino,’ songs that cemented his reputation as a worshipper who sings straight from the heart.
Now, he’s taking that ministry off the pulpit and onto a stage built for intimacy.
The stakes are high and Chigwida is raising them.
