THE Government has set the gold dealing licence fee at US$200 000, up from US$5 000.
This is according to a notice published by Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube in the Government Gazette yesterday.
The new fees were announced in terms of section 19 of the Gold Trade Act (Chapter 21:03).
The country produced 35 tonnes of gold last year, with output expected to increase this year as Zimbabwe gears to achieve a US$12 billion mining industry.
