Graduation Ceremony Underway at Zimbabwe Staff College for 71 Military Officers

HARARE, Zimbabwe – The graduation ceremony for Joint Command and Staff Course Number 37 has officially commenced at the Zimbabwe Staff College, celebrating the achievements of 71 military officers from the Zimbabwe Defence Forces as well as regional and international allied defence forces.


Notably, 14 percent of the graduates are women, reflecting ongoing efforts to promote gender equality within military ranks.


The diverse cohort includes officers from several Southern African Development Community (SADC) nations, as well as other allied countries, marking a significant milestone in regional military collaboration. The participating countries are as follows:
– *Botswana*: 1 officer
– *Eswatini*: 1 officer
– *Tanzania*: 2 officers
– *Lesotho*: 1 officer
– *South Africa*: 3 officers
– *Namibia*: 2 officers
– *Kenya*: 1 officer (first-time participant)
– *Nigeria*: 1 officer
– *Zambia*: 1 officer
– *Malawi*: 1 officer

This graduation highlights Zimbabwe’s commitment to advancing military education and strengthening ties with its regional partners. As the ceremony continues, officials from various nations are expected to emphasise the importance of joint training and collaboration in addressing the region’s common security challenges.
