A 71-YEAR-OLD sex-starved man cried for sex in court, claiming his wife Musa Sibanda (72) preferred to have it with her son.
The elderly couple had dragged each other to the Western commonage Court after the woman accused her husband of verbally abusing her, as well as accusing her of being a witch and a prostitute.
Never Sibanda (71) of Pumula North suburb appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Jeconia Prince Ncube facing a charge of breaching a protection order.
Sibanda asked the magistrate for permission to speak and told the court that his wife is a prostitute.
“From 2017 to December 2018 she was doing this,” said his the elderly man, his eyes shining with tears.
He said there was a day when he woke up and could not find her in bed, and decided to go and relieve himself.
“Upon reaching the toilet, I found the door locked. I knocked and asked why the toilet door was locked.
“I waited and saw her son coming out of the toilet and my wife as well. They had locked themselves inside the toilet together.
“Her son is married and has his own family. My wife and I do not have children together,” he told the court.
When his wife was called to the witness stand, she told the court that she wanted him to be given a custodial sentence because he abuses her and accuses her of sleeping with her son, which she said was painful and untrue.
“I want him to be given a custodial sentence or give us a separation order because I am tired of his behaviour,” she told the court.
Prosecutor Mr Tafara Dzimbanhete told the court that the accused person and complainant are husband and wife.
He said that on May 3, 2026, at around 7 PM, the accused person verbally assaulted his wife, saying “uri hure, uri muroyi,” which in English means “you are a prostitute and a witch,” and accused her of sleeping with her son.
He said Sibanda violated a protection order which had been granted last year, barring him from physically or verbally abusing his spouse.
Sibanda was sentenced to four months in prison, which were wholly suspended for three years on condition that he does not commit a similar offence.
