Simeon Sinero (79) of Glovina Farm, Beatrice, had denied the charges when his trial opened before regional magistrate Mr Clever Tsikwa.
He was, however, convicted after overwhelming evidence against him.
Mr Tsikwa sentenced Sinero to 18 years in jail, but set aside nine years on condition he does not commit a similar offence in the next five years.
