Granny sues granddaughter over booze, clubbing

AN elderly woman from Tegela suburb in Bulawayo opened up on the challenges of being a guardian while complaining to the courts about her granddaughter who loves going clubbing and boozing.

A furious Sabina Sibanda said her granddaughter Teephany Sibanda is an alcoholic adding that the boozy nights she (Teephany) was subjecting herself to, were causing her to steal and borrow money from neighbours using her name.
Gogo Sabina who was seeking a protection order against Teephany said she was apparently ashamed for bringing up such a child.

a?Teephany Sibanda is my granddaughter. Her behaviour is emotionally disturbing me. She drinks beer and sleeps in night clubs. She drinks a lot and likes to go out partying all night.A She is also in the habit of borrowing money from people using my name. As a result she has accrued a number of debts in my name without my knowledge, for which I am now liable.

a?I am now afraid that she will put me in heavy debt. Some time in March this year my money amounting to $120 went missing in the house and I suspect her.

a?Her conduct is disturbing my peace and I want the court to stop her from doing that,a? said a disgusted Gogo Sabina.

She said they usually row with Teephany over her clubbing and excessive drinking habits.
