COMESA Business Council Vice President Mr Sheriff El Gabaly says global buyers, investors and trade regulators are increasingly demanding products manufactured with lower carbon emissions, minimal waste and strict value-chain traceability.
Speaking at the COMESA Green Industries Connect event at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) today, he warned that while early adopters of sustainable models will solidify their integration into regional and global value chains, enterprises that fail to transition risk being marginalised.
“Green industrialisation is now a condition for global competitiveness. For our enterprises, this is both a challenge and an opportunity. Those that adapt early will secure their place in regional and global value chains, while those that do not risk being left behind,” said Mr Gabaly.
