Greens opens Plumtree branch

GREENS Supermarket has opened a retail branch in Plumtree after opening a wholesale facility in the border town border town a month ago.

The supermarket opened on Tuesday last week and has attracted a number of customers from Plumtree and surrounding areas.

The new outlet is operating from premises that previously housed AJY Spar Supermarket, which has since ceased operations.

Greens Plumtree branch manager, Mr Garikai Maganga said their business was committed to providing quality service to Plumtree residents.

“We have now opened a retail shop in Plumtree and I assure our customers that they now have a one stop shop at their disposal.

The supermarket is providing a wide range of products in various sections which comprise confectionery, liquor, fruit and vegetables, cosmetics, butchery among others and these will be available in a fresh state.

“We have also opened a wholesale shop and our aim is to ensure that we remain fully stocked for the convenience of our customers,” said Mr Maganga.

He said they had realised that the border town did not have a one stop retail shop, which offered goods at competitive prices.

Mr Maganga said the response from consumers was so far overwhelming.

He said most of the workers that had been deployed at the retail and wholesale shops were locals from Plumtree.

A resident said the opening of Greens Supermarket had long being awaited.

“I am pleased because I am now able to buy goods at a cheaper price.

“I started buying the moment the wholesale shop was opened last month because I noticed a price difference when compared to the other retail shops that we have,” said Lilian Mpofu.

Greens Supermarket and Cash and Carry Wholesale Plumtree recently donated waste bins to Plumtree Town Council as part of their social responsibility activities.

Mr Maganga said it was their time to plough back to the community for their overwhelming support since they established the wholesale.

He said this move would help in the campaign against littering.
