A grieving woman was arrested yesterday following a clash with a tenant in Belvedere.
Dadirai Mugabe was taken to police holding cells some hours after burying her brother, Tendai Mugabe who was killed in South Africa on April 18.
Dadirai clashed with her tenant, Clifford Lycan White after forcibly taking Tendai’s body into the house occupied by the tenant.
Lycan took the matter to police, who allowed the burial to proceed before pouncing on Dadirai.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the arrest.
“Police arrested a woman for assault and malicious damage to property.
“The suspect is expected to appear in court tomorrow (today),” said Insp Chakanza.
Tendai was last seen on April 18, and his body was found two months later in a decomposing state in South Africa.
He was laid at Zororo Cemetery in Harare on Monday.
