BUJUMBURA. — At least 20 gunmen Tuesday attacked a school at Gasenyi in Buganda, in the province of Cibitoke, 50km west of the Burundian capital Bujumbura, a police official said yesterday. “Between 10 and 20 armed bandits attacked the boarding school run by the Adventist Church.
“During the attack that targeted the boys’ dormitory and that lasted a few minutes, the bandits stole an unknown amount of money, two mattresses, clothes and mobile phones,” said Eugene Bizindavyi, Police Commissioner in the province of Cibitoke. According to Bizindavyi, the bandits “did not hurt” any pupil or agent at the school.
