GUNNERS coach Kudakwashe Masaraure remains optimistic they will win the league despite Saturday’s setback when they went down to DStv Rangers at Lafarge in the World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league. Masaraure said it’s still early to give up although his side appears to be losing their magic in the championship race, dropping seven points in the last three games.
They are now sharing the same number of points with second-placed Flame Lilly, who also have 57 points.
“We don’t have pressure, Dynamos for the past three years have been taking the league on goal difference and we will continue to work hard, even on goal difference we can also win the league.
“We need to remain on top, we just need to correct a few things and win our remaining games,” Masaraure said.
The log leaders will take on Commando in their next assignment and Masaraure said there won’t be any changes to their game plan.
“We had two draws and one loss, so players lose confidence but we will psyche them and they will be fine. They know this is their job,” said Masaraure.
Meanwhile, Bindura United coach, John Wilo, is a relieved man after his side got three points for the first time in four weeks after beating ZRP Morris Football Club 2-1 over the weekend.
They had gone for four games without a win.
They lost three league matches and one Cup game against Ngezi Platinum in the Yadah Knock-out Cup tournament last month.
The Bindura United coach, who is working with his captain Zivanai Mhanda after the departure of his assistants Zacks Kataya and Collin Chawasarira, said a win is what they needed to motivate the players.
“After these difficult moments, it’s a boost for them, considering that we have not been playing well and scoring two goals for a team that has not been doing well it’s good.
“They (players) have vowed to continue with their good performance and maybe it’s the return of the good days, we are bouncing back to our winning ways.
“We will see in our next game during the midweek; if we win then its back to the glory days,” said Wilo.
Bindura remained fourth on the log table with 48 points and it was the same story for Mushowani Stars, who are sitting on third place with 54 points.
