Gunners still after Lemar

LONDON. — Arsenal have had a bid in excess of £30 million turned down for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar and are now considering whether to formalise their interest in Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.

Arsène Wenger’s transfer priorities have been the French trio of Kylian Mbappé, Alexandre Lacazette and Lemar, with Arsenal hoping to sign two new forwards ahead of Alexis Sánchez’s likely departure.

Arsenal are now preparing a new raid on Monaco for star man Lemar.

Lemar is wanted by the Gunners this summer.

But so far the English Premier League soccer giants haven’t made any headway with a deal.

The Times reported yesterday that an opening £31m offer for the French midfielder has been knocked back by Monaco.

And they add a renewed bid of closer to £35m is now being prepeared. — The Daily Star.
