UPCOMING Afro fusion musician, Tatenda “Gushungo” Gomwe, shocked fans when he paraded a Budiriro-based spirit medium, as a guest of honour, at his album launch at Bar Rouge in Harare.
Guhungo said Gogo Diana Nzinga, 69, provides him with the guidance he needs in life.
Titled Sango Rinoyera, the album carries 10 tracks – Dziva reNjuzu, Mhuri Yangu, Amaka, Ndide Ndikude, Sango Rinoyera, Nherera, Machangamire, Melo, Vakuru and Gomo Rinoyera.
However, it was the presence of Gogo Nzinga, which sent tongues wagging, as guests were desperate to know how he made that choice.
“She is one of the people who guides me spiritually.
“She has been teaching me to avoid wicked stuff like ritual murders, womanising.
“This includes evil practices like kuromba, which God is against,” he said.
Although Gushungo claimed he received guidance from Gogo Nzinga, he was warned against womanising by socialite and music fanatic, Darlington “Dhadza” Chipanera.
Chipanera warned Gushungo in his speech.
“Look my younger brother, you have surprised many today by packing Bar Rouge to the brim.
“I am now warning you to desist from womanising because of the popularity that you are gathering.
“I am urging you to stick to one partner and be faithful all the time.
“No matter how beautiful the women you are going to meet are.
“I am begging you to stick to one wife.
“Discipline is the important thing in showbiz because it makes you a better artist,” he said.
