A provincial magistrate in the office of the chief magistrate, Mr Walter Chikwanha, yesterday wrote to all senior regional magistrates and provincial heads countrywide, informing them of the latest development.
Mr Guvamombe was last year appointed acting chief magistrate to replace Mrs Hlekani Mwayera, who had been promoted to be a judge of the High Court. The new chief magistrate has been a magistrate for more than 25 years. He had an opportunity to head Mashonaland Central and Harare provinces for a combined 13 years. Mr
Guvamombe was the man in charge of Rusape Magistrates’ Court between 1992 and 1997. He was later elevated to the post of provincial magistrate in charge of Mashonaland Central Province for five years before heading Harare Province where he served in a similar post for another eight years.
