Vainona coach confident

The tournament is being hosted by Mosi-a-Tunya and 24 teams will fight for honours in the boys and girls categories.
Both sections will feature 12 teams and Vainona are the defending champions in the girls’ category.
Vainona will battle it out against Kambarami and Goko in Group C at Baobab Primary.
Kagwere said they have been preparing for the competition and were raring to go.
“We are ready to play any team and I think we are going to have our final match this afternoon against Gateway before we leave tomorrow.
“To be honest we don’t worry much about what other teams expect from us. We are going to play our normal game, whatever results we get we are okay with it,” said Kagwere.
Kagwere said most of their players are always active as some of them are involved in the women’s league and the junior teams.
“We can basically say our players play in the women’s league for Cyclone, some play in the regional games for juniors.
“Almost every week they are playing either in the Super League or in the Regional Games, so they are fit,” said Kagwere.
The Vainona coach said they will be pinning their hopes on some their best players such as attacking midfielders Greater Bande, who is the team captain, and Daisy Masukuta, as well as striker Tinotenda Sadziwa and central defender Mercy Marowa.
“I can basically say the Under-17 we have are quite a strong team because most of them are the players who played last year,” added Kagwere.
Other groups will see hosts Mosi-a-Tunya taking on Matinunura and Mutondwe in group A at Farm School while Sobvubu, last year’s runner-up Selonga and Chidyamakono battle it out in group B at the same venue.
Group D is made up of Glen View 1, Madzorera and Masotsha and they will be playing at Elephant Hills.
For the boys’ competition group A consists of Hwange, Mutoko and Dzivarasekwa 2 and they will play at Chinotimba. Chiodza, Marange and Luveve clash in Group B at Falls clubs.
Mzingwane and Rimuka will join defending champions Manunure in Group C at Elephant Hills.
Mosi-a-Tunya, Pamushana and Centenary are in Group D.
All the teams are expected to be in Victoria Falls today.
