Teenage Hadebe is set to launch a foundation aimed at uplifting the less privileged as a way of giving back to the community.
Those involved in the organisation say the player is passionate about this initiative which he believes reflects his remarkable journey from the streets of Bulawayo into a powerful force in Zimbabwean football.
His is a classic African football narrative – rising from humble beginnings, achieving success abroad and witnessing a rapid transformation in fortune.
“The Teenage Hadebe Foundation is coming in to help the less privileged people in society,” said a close associate.
“He is looking forward to giving a chance, especially to the youngsters who dare to dream and get an opportunity for themselves to become champions in their own right.”
The foundation is set to be nationwide, extending beyond his hometown of Bulawayo.
The timing follows a significant milestone, his recent celebration of earning a 50th cap for the Warriors.
“He is grateful for what the nation has done for him. He is bringing the Foundation as a way to also say thank you for the support he has received over the years.”
Hadebe joins other current Warriors stars like Marvelous Nakamba and Jordan Zemura, who already have similar establishments.
Former Warriors midfielder Esrom Nyandoro is also helping several students to pay their fees through his founda-tion.
“Hadebe has good role models that he has been learning from in the past.”
